A big part of any buy sell is real estate. It can represent up to half of the entire price in some smaller deals. You might think someone selling that amount of real estate would be licensed, but that isn’t always the case.
In this issue, I look at the reasons a dealership broker should also hold a real estate license. Aside from the fact that it is legally required in many states, a license is useful from a knowledge stand point, and also safer from a potential litigation standpoint, I hear from licensed brokers.
I love to talk with dealers, and for a story in this week’s issue I spoke with an especially interesting and informative guy, Bill Estes. We talked about his group’s recent acquisition of a Chrysler dealership, how a non-GM franchise would have been a name not spoken around his dinner table when he was growing up, and his thoughts on dealership prices in today’s market (Hint: Some are way too high.).
And of course we have the wildly-popular Transaction News.
Enjoy!
