Before I talked with Mike Bachara of Pro Count West Inventory, to me “inventory” just meant a bunch of parts on shelves. But inventory includes much more than just those physical parts, I learned.
Those physical parts are a big part of inventory, however, and having an in-depth knowledge of manufacturers’ inventory management guidelines related to those parts is crucial, especially when you are thinking of selling your dealership. In this issue, Bachara lays out the benefits of figuring out what you have in your inventory long before you sit down to negotiate a buy/sell agreement.
Bit by bit Volkswagen is coming to grips with the diesel emissions scandal. But it is far from finished. I am reminded by that every day, when a new headline appears saying VW is “close to finalizing” an agreement around some other aspect of its cheating. Today it was how to deal with Porsche and Audi diesel-powered 3.0L engine vehicles.
Since this news won’t die, this week we are re-running a column our contributor Ira Silver wrote back in February about the fallout from Volkswagen’s breach of trust. I think it is as relevant now as it was back then.
We also have another in our Women in Automotive profiles. This week, I talk with Amy Bannor, an internet manager who has turned herself into a brand.
Then of course there is Transaction News.
Enjoy!
