Stand-alone used-car dealerships are trendy these days. Sonic was an early adopter with Echo Park. In the past few weeks, AutoNation announced it would create stand-alone used car dealerships and Penske acquired CarSense, a chain of stand-alone used car stores.
No-haggle pricing is often a feature at these businesses because let’s face it, consumers really hate negotiating a used car price. Some dealership groups have their own approach to making buying a used car more palatable. Prime Motor Group, which is profiled in this week’s issue, offers the “Prime Peace of Mind” guarantee.
The guarantee says that if a buyer is not happy with a used car purchase from Prime Motor Group, the vehicle can be returned within 30 days or 750 miles and exchanged for a vehicle of the same or greater value. A new car can be returned within 48 hours for your money back.
