Real estate is a major part of many buy sell transactions. The real estate purchase agreement lays out the terms of that transaction, and ensuring that the REPA, as it goes by in legal circles, is acceptable is crucial.
This week, The Scali Law Firm’s attorneys offer some guidelines for reviewing a REPA, starting with verifying that you have the right to review the preliminary title report. That gives you the chance to scope out any disapproved items and to make sure the agreement allows enough time to deal with those items.
I just wrote a column for Driving Sales discussing the impact of online sales on dealership valuation. While an online presence is crucial for any dealership these days, there are still plenty of believers in the efficacy of an old-fashioned hands-on management approach that includes traditional media and of the owner spending plenty of time in a dealership.
Brian Kelly is one of those believers. This week I talk with him about his recent acquisition of a Ford dealership – a store he has had his eye on for three decades – and about his hands-on approach to managing the Kelly Automotive Group.
There have been plenty of transactions this week, both domestic and international, so check out our Transaction News as well!
