We hear about groups from overseas eyeing the U.S. market, and this week we have a story about the owner of several overseas groups starting a dealership group here in the U.S. This owner has a familiar name, however, McLarty.
Mark McLarty has created his own U.S.-based dealership group, McLarty Automotive Holdings, and has started acquiring stores. I talked with him about his years of experience in Brazil and China (we have a lot of similar China memories) and about coming home to Little Rock. You can read about that and his growth plans for the U.S. group in this issue.
New types of investors are coming into the dealership buy sell world and you may want to court some of them as buyers for your store or group. Private equity and family fund investors look at investment opportunities from a different point of view, however. In this issue, Jonathan Wilke of DHG Dealerships discusses preparing for a sale to those non-automotive investors.
We also have our very popular Transaction News.
