Publicly-listed Sonic Automotive Inc. saw same-store new vehicle sales drop three percent in the second quarter but used car sales surge, leading to plans to expand the Echo Park pre-owned car network and helping to boost gross profit by 2.1 percent compared to the same quarter in 2016, Sonic reported in a press release.
