Edmunds forecasts August new car and truck sales of 1,533,508 million units, down 2.5 percent compared to the same month in 2015, equating to a Seasonally Adjusted Annual Sales Rate of 17.2 million units. For the first eight months of 2016, Edmunds forecasts sales of 11,694,452 units, up 0.8 percent on-year.
Retail August SAAR is forecast to be 14.6 million units, and fleet transactions will account for 14.7 percent of total sales, says Edmunds.
