Joydrive, a start-up based in Seattle, WA, has partnered with four dozen dealerships to sell their new and used inventory online, removing the need to visit a dealership from the equation, reports Automotive News.
For clarification, Joydrive does NOT aim to eliminate dealerships — they are fundamental in our model. In fact dealerships still control 100% of the transaction details, from pricing to using their network of lenders to being able to offer GAP and vehicle protection plans. Instead of eliminating the dealership, Joydrive’s unique technology platform gives dealerships a new way to engage customers based on consumers’ overwhelming interest in having a digital option available to complete their purchase.
Mike, thanks for your reply. At your request I have added “visit” to the headline. This actually speaks to one of our columns this week about how real estate is a big component in the buy sell equation. If sites such as yours take the actual visit out of the equation, the need for dealerships to have lots of inventory on site, and a big show room, is thrown into doubt.
Dealership-specific comments or reviews regarding sales or services should be posted on Yelp, Google, etc. where they are frequently monitored and addressed.Cancel Reply
