It’s the day before Thanksgiving, and I’m sure we all have a lot to be thankful for. We live in a wealthy, peaceful, diverse country. Our founding fathers devised a robust system of government that has allowed us to continue as a nation united through some very tough times. I trust it will do so now.
I also trust that the owners of Volkswagen dealerships will survive the turmoil they have been going through recently. Volkswagen AG seems to be making some changes that will give those dealers more say in their future. In this issue I write about those changes and what buy sell professionals think they will mean for VW dealership valuations.
Also in this issue, we revisit a popular column from earlier in the year by Crowe Horwath on dealership value-killer practices to avoid. One practice that should be avoided? Failing to protect your reputation. VW dealership owners didn’t have much control over that and Volkswagen has already done a lot of damage to its reputation. VW North America chief Hinrich J. Woebcken listed two reasons he thinks consumers can be convinced to trust the VW brand again. Read about them in this issue.
And we have, as always, Transaction News.
Enjoy!
