Transportation experts surveyed by the Institution of Transportation Studies at the University of California Davis see autonomous vehicles accounting for 20 percent of sales by 2040, shared rides accounting for more than 20 percent of U.S. passenger miles by 2040, and the majority of ride-sharing vehicles being electric by 2050, reports Wards Auto.
