1 month ago my husband and I leased a S80, this vehicle is one of 4 that we’ve purchased through Volvo, and the 3rd from Suburban Volvo (the S80 is the first leased) I have never had any regrets with our purchases. The sales person Elliott Banks was courteous and professional and the General manager was extremely accommodating. When I needed to trade-in my previous S60, (for a newer model, but more so an AWD, because we needed the vehicle for use during winter in NJ). I did not hesitate to return to Elliott Banks at what I thought was Suburban Volvo, well to my surprise I realized that the dealership was sold to its current owner.
Elliott processed me for the new purchase, when I asked if I needed to test drive he said I did not need to because there weren’t too many changes, the only changes were cosmetic. After negotiations a favorable price was agreed upon, and we went outside to be “introduced” to the inside of the car, to my surprised when I attempted to reverse the car, I looked down to notice that a “back-up” camera was not installed. Elliott knew that I needed these features because I recently had spinal surgery (of the neck) and looking over my shoulder was limited. I discussed this with the manager stressing that I traded the S60 which was equipped with front and back-up mirrors, and that I was lead to believe that I would be leasing an equivalent except that this would be larger, newer and AWD (at this point he realized that we were not offered a test drive) During the intro, Elliott discovered that the function that recognizes the Key, was not lit, meaning the ‘button” was gray. We were told that this is a minor problem, that we needed to leave the car overnight and both the “back-up” camera and the “switch/button” would be fixed. This took a few days. Approximately 3 -5 days later the care was delivered, both the camera and the button/switch were functioning. 3 days later, the button/switch no longer worked meaning the light went off, and the key was no longer being recognized by the car. I returned the car, got a loaner, picked up the car after 2-3 days. I told Elliott that due to medical reasons my husband needed to be in NJ, we left 2 days later, on the way the switch/button went on the “blink” again, I was told to take the car into the closest Volvo near our residence in NJ, they again “fixed” the problem, 3 days later and at the time of this writing the problem still exist. I spoke with Elliott, left 2 messages for the GM Mike, spoke with Claus the Head of service, all I was told is I need to take the car back for “them” to “download software” This procedure was done 4 times already, the system would work for 3 days, only to return to its previous malfunctioning. Please, pleas help me, I’ve asked them to switch cars, give me another car, and take current car into the shop to do a through check. I’ve spent more time in “Loaner” cars because the current car is in the dealership at least every other wee. My phone number is 561.7xx.xxxx I am awaiting your response.
