The Carousel Motor Group of Minneapolis will build a new facility for its Porsche of Minneapolis dealership in Golden Valley, Minn. The new dealership, at the same site as the existing store, should be completed in July of 2015.
Previously known as Twin Cities Automotive, the name was changed by to The Carousel Group in mid-2014 to reflect a plan to move beyond the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The privately-held Pohlad Companies owns the dealership group. Pohlad acquired the Porsche store in Golden Valley in the summer of 2012 along with three other luxury dealerships.
Pohlad Cos. also owns the Minnesota Twins baseball team and has holdings in a variety of industries including banking and entertainment. It formed Twin Cities Automotive in 2008.
