August new car and truck sales fell 4.2 percent compared to the same month in 2015, largely driven by a drop in car sales as truck and SUV sales remained strong, rising 2.4 percent while passenger car sales dropped 12.6 percent, on total sales of 1.51 million units for August, or a Seasonally Adjusted Annual Rate of 16.68 million, reports Reuters here:
